Spring Mini Session Info

Posted on January 21, 2012

Okay kids.  Here’s the delio. I know it’s only January but between doing weddings of my own and second shooting with Rachel on so many of her weddings….my Spring/Summer weekends are quickly filling up.  I have had so many of you contact me about mini sessions so I wanted to at least get the date out so people can start planning ahead.   These will be the ONLY days that I will be doing child/family sessions until Fall so be sure to grab a spot!  I will be doing approx 6-8 per day.  I will also schedule a rain out weekend as well(prob for early June.)  If interested in securing your spot…please email me at sheila@sheilacastlephotography.com or fb message me.  50% deposit holds your spot:)

The {A} Family

Posted on August 31, 2011

This past weekend, I got to go hang with a friend and her family on their beautiful farm in Kentucky.  I soo wish I was a rural person.  I tried.  I really did…moved to Indiana and everything.  Remember how that turned out? I had to move back to Glendale just so that I could be within a 2 mile radius of Kroger, Target and Costco.  I would LOVE to have my kiddos grow up the way Angies’s kids are….tons of dogs and cats, chickens, roosters and horses to take care of. Running barefoot, climbing trees, helping in the barn. What a slice of heaven Angie and her family have!  (and if there was a Target…or heck…even a Walmart…. within a few miles than I may consider becoming her neighbor.)They are remodeling an old farmhouse and I could seriously live on their front porch.  I actually fell asleep on the porch swing while I was there. (My job is rough I tell ya.)  There are acres and acres of land as far as you can see…dotted with the occasional barn or farmhouse.  The only sound other than the occasional passing car is the rooster that crows every now and then.  It is one of the most peaceful places that I’ve ever been.  Thanks Ang and Eric for letting me come hang out with you guys!

The {W} Family

Posted on August 25, 2011

I don’t like to play favorites….really, I don’t.  But if you were to ask me who some of my favorite clients are…these folks may just round out one of the very tip top spots. And not only because they have allowed me to take Skylars pictures like a bazillion times and keep coming back for more(although, not gonna lie..that helps:)   Not only are they some of my most fave clients, but also some of my most favorite friends.  My hubby and Kevin have been friends since high school and Jenny and I just clicked years ago when we first met.  Jenny is one of those creative types…you know the ones.  Literally every.single thing she makes she could sell on Etsy for like 246492746 dollars.   She makes the rest of us “artists” look ridiculous with her talent.   Yea.  She’s one of those. Her art is beautiful and her home is filled with tons of her creative “stuff”.  And she is also one of the sweetest, genuine, most fun people I have ever met:)  And oh yea…Kevin is pretty cool too.  And crazy.  He is competing in the Ironman competition this weekend in Louisville.  And for those that don’t know, this is some CARAZY event where you swim like 3 miles, bike for 100+miles then run 26+ miles.  Back to back.  Crazy. So Good luck Kevin! And little Miss Skylar….love.her. And love that whenever I tell her something she says in an exasperated  2 year old tone “I know!” Or when I ask her to do something..she says “OKAY!” like she is super annoyed with me.   Example…Me(in my overly excited photography voice): “Skylar, do you want to go play by the flowers!!?!?!” Skylar:  ”O KAY”( but only because my mom told me I had to and said I could have some goldfish if I did what you said.. and not because I like you or want to play with you in any way, shape or form.)  Me:”OOOh Skylar look at how pretty these flowers are!! These are yellllllow!!!!”  Skylar: “I KNOOOOOW”(and those are purple and those are red…now leave me alone and let me eat my dang goldfish in peace you weird overly excited lady.)  Yep…thats how the conversation went. :)

The {K} Family

The {K} Family. What an amazing breath of fresh air this sweet family of 3 is.  But…I already knew that.  I had the absolute honor of photographing this family of 3 last summer and they quickly became some of my most favorite clients.  I know I’ve said it before…But…you know those people that you just immediately like?  You know the ones…..the ones that you just click with right from the start?  Yep…….That’s what went down with the Knechts’ and I.  They are genuine in their love for each other and for their sweet daughter Ava.  And it shows…..in the way that they interact with each other and the way that they treat other people.  I am so grateful for the clients that come my way….and families like the Knechts’ just remind me why I continue on this creative journey that I’m on.   Can’t wait to share more from this sweet session:)

The {R} Family

Posted on June 5, 2011

Attempting to play catch up this morning with my blog posts…We’ll see  how far I get!  I have so many sessions, projects etc. that I have been dying to get on the blog but unfortunately real life just gets in the way some times:)

So let me just tell you how much I love this family.  Do you know those people that you instantly like the second you meet?  The ones where you can be as silly as you want and completely and totally be yourself around?  The type of people that just exude positivity and good vibes and make you feel super good about yourself and just life in general?  Yep…that’s this family.   We met at the zoo and had an absolute blast just hangin out.  I hadn’t been to the zoo in years and forgot how amazing it is there!(Yes..I know…mom of the year.  I promise, I will take my kids to the zoo this summer.)

Thanks so much guys for being so darn awesome and letting me hang with you. :)
